Shabad Vani; Shabad-5;
(What we should worship and why)
This a very good shabad in
which Guru ji explained nicely & logically, that what we should
worship & what not and why.
That time in 15th century
Hindu Dharma was at its downfall stage due to various internal
(andh vishvas, kuritian) & external(invadors) reasons.
The confused and frustrated
people used to worship many god, godesses, peer, pittar etc.
Guru ji enlightened them
with gyan and reasoning that what we should worship & what not
and why.
It is unfortunate that in
many bishnoi families still these are being worshiped in the
name of Bhomia Ji, khetpal ji, Baian(sisters), Pitter Ji, and
many other names. Some new Baba's e.g. Asa ram ji, Sachha soda
etc. and some mata's(Usha mata, Nirmal mata) are also being
worshiped today by Bishnois.
People are forgetting the
real god who is only worshipable.
It is unfotunate that in
some bishnoi homes these are prayed regulary but not jambho ji.
We can see in many Bishnoi villages, well maintained temples of
other Devi devtas but not of Jambhoji's. I think this shabad
have more relevence today for such bishnois and others as well.
Guru Ji did not ask to
worship himself. He advised to worship the only one niraakar god
with the name Vishnu. People worship him as a god due to love,
respect & emotion.
It is worth to mention here
that some name of god is required to pray, worship or recite.
Guruji suggested that name as Vishnu but in other communities
the name may be Shiva, Allah, Jesus, Budha, Nirankar, Nature
etc. but the pray/worship is for the only one god who is
Niraakar, doe not take birth and doe not die.

Shabad Vani; Shabad-5;
(What we should worship and why)
OM
AIALO APARAMPER BANI;
MEHE JAPA NE JAYA JIVU
Oh logo (people) my speech
(teaching) is diferent from the traditional which you are used
to. I donot worship a person who has taken birth like any human
being or creature. I worship the ultimate element (param tatw)
who is out of any description & imagination. And I advise you
also to do the same.
JATI, TAPI ,TAKPIR,
RISHESWAR ; KAY JAPIJE TEPAN JAYA JIVU
Why you worship Yati, Tapi
(Yogi), Sitting Peer, Rishi muni etc? Why you worship creatures
who have taken birth?
KHECHAR,
BHUCHAR,KHETRAPALA,PARGAT,GUPTA ; KAY JAPIJE TEPAN JAYA JIVU
Why you worship creatures,
who are in sky or on earth, visible or hidden and khetpali ji or
Bhomia ji? Why you worship creatures who have taken birth?
VASAG, SHESH,
GUNIDA,FUNIDA ; KAY JAPIJE TEPAN JAYA JIVU
Why you worship different
types of snakes like, Vasuki, Sheshnag, Fandhari (cobra), so
called useful or manidhari? Why you worship creatures who have
taken birth?
CHAUNSAT JOGNI BAWAN
VEERU ; KAY JAPIJE TEPAN JAYA JIVU
Why you worship 64 types of
joginis (sadhvi), 52 types of veers (warriors)? Why you worship
creatures who have taken birth?
JAPA TO EK NIRALAMBH
SHIMBHU; JIHI KE MAI NE PIU
I worship only the one god
who is self created, without shape and does not have mother or
father. You should also worship the same.
NE TAN RAKTU, NE TAN
DHATU, NE TAN TAW, NE SIU
That worshipable god does
not have body, blood, and element and is not afected by heat or
cold.
SARV SIRJAT MARAT
BIVARJAT, TAS NE MOOLJ LENA KIO
The only worshipable is the
god who creates the whole universe and is deathless (do not die)
and is origin & final destination of all living things. You
should search and worship that root element (param tat) god.
AIALO APARAMPER BANI;
MEHE JAPA NE JAYA JIVU
Therefore oh people my way
of thinking is diferent but is true. I donot worship birth
taking creatures and advise you the same.
Note:- Please note that guru
ji never told to worship even himself but people out of love,
emotion & respect worship him as a god.
Actually guruji told to
worship Vishnu (as a niraakar god). Here it is worth to mention
that to pray or recite the god we need some name of god.
And guru ji suggested that
name as Vishnu. In other communities this name can be Allah,
Ram, Budha, Onkar, Nature etc. but the pray is for the god who
is only one, do not take birth, do not have shape,do not die.
