28. “MANS SU DUR HI BHAGE” Don’t eat meat or other non-vegetarian food.
Eating dead body of animal or bird in the form of meat is the most inhuman act by a human being.
It is strictly prohibited in Bishnoism by Guru ji. Many innocent animals, birds, fishes are killed to get meat and other non-vegetarian food. This barbaric act is against God because human body is not made to eat meat or other non-vegetarian food.
Guru Ji said, “JEEV VINASE LAHE KARNE, LOBH SWARATH KHATBA KHAJ AKHAJU” why to kill animals for selfishness, greed and to eat meat which is not meant as a human food.
Human digestive system is not meant to eat & digest meat. Nature has gifted human with fruits, grains, sweets and other delicious foods, then why to kill & eat animals. Vegetarian diet is ethical, economical and healthy. By eating non-vegetarian food many diseases of those animals enter human body e.g. bird flue, cow disease etc. Then killing more animals & birds suspecting these diseases is again an inhuman act. Meat increases cholesterol in body and blood and causes blood pressure & heart attack. Someone rightly said, “JESA KHAO ANN, VESA HOVE MAN” means our mind & thinking will be as per the food we eat. Therefore those who eat meat are more violent, aggressive and less compassionate. Humanity & ecological balance are in danger due to killing animals & birds for eating.
29. “LEEL NA LAVE ANG, DEKHTE DUR HI TAYAGE” Don’t use violet blue colour clothes (extracted from green indigo plant).
Guru ji prohibited use of LEEL(NEEL) because blue colour was extracted from green indigo plant and blue clothes were worn by people involved in wrong doings. To provide a clear identity he advised Bishnois to wear white clothes which is symbol of peace and purity. Science also has proved that blue & other dark colour clothes are not good for body/health because these absorb harmful ultra violet rays whereas white clothes reflect back the harmful rays. Dirt/filth/foul absorbed in coloured clothe is not visible hence we do not realise how much dirty our cloth has become. Therefore white clothes are clean, hygienic and healthy for out body. That is why doctors, nurses wear white clothes. Our choice of colour for clothes reflects our personality. Like disciplined & organised groups e.g. police, army, doctors, nurses, sadhus etc. wear certain dresses, white cloth is a dress for Bishnois as advised by Guru ji.
Blue colour is considered symbol of impurity, poison and death. As per Vedic literature also blue colour was considered for Chandals(an outcast). Some other groups doing bad works also were wearing blue clothes hence Guru Ji advised to keep away from such people.
Guru Ji also said, “NEEL MADHYE KUCHIL KARBA” the devils do the dirty things after wearing blue clothes.
