20. “AJAR JARE JEEVAT MARE” Control/burn/ win over AJARs (lust, anger, ego/pride, greed, attachment/infatuation/delusion).

Some bad habits which are not subject to age or decay are called AJAR e.g. lust, anger, ego/pride, greed, attachment/infatuation/delusion. These control our mind and spread like a wild fire and burn our power of positive thinking and harm us & others. In other Hindu literature these are called 5 enemies of human.

Guru Ji told to control & burn these bad qualities before these start affecting us. People who control these enemies are not afraid of death and can win over the death because they definitely achieve MOKSHA after death.

Guru Ji said, “JIVIT MARO RE JIVIT MARO, JIN JEEVAN KI VIDHI JANI” means the person who is ready to feel death has founded the real way of living. Such people are ready to face any difficulties, pain, failure and do not get stressed because nothing can be worse than death. They are the real fighters and have win over the death.

Guru Ji said, “ABDHU AJARA JAR LE” o sadhu/yogi, you should burn/destroy these bad habits.

“VISHNU VISHNU BHAN, AJAR JARIJE” by reciting Vishnu name we can burn (win over) AJARS.

21. “KARE RASOI HATH SU,AAN SU PALLA NA LAVE” Eat own/home cooked food & do not eat from those who do not follow principles of Bishnoism.

Don’t eat food cooked/kept in impure/unhygienic conditions or cooked by a person who is not clean/ hygienic. Eat own/home cooked food.

When Guru Jambheshwar founded Bishnoism that time some members of a family became Bishnoi but others were not. So Guru ji made this rule to differentiate and encourage Bishnois to keep away from those who are involved in bad works and who eat non-vegetarian food, drink liquor & smoke.

By this rule Guru Ji advocated for pure (SATVIK) vegetarian food cooked by clean hands in hygienic conditions and not to have food & marriage relations who eat non-veg food, drink & smoke and are involved in bad works.

Later on some Bishnois misinterpreted this rule as untouchability which is wrong because Guru Ji were against caste system based on birth only.

If a Bishnoi is involved in non-veg, drinking, smoking and opium then food cooked or offered by him also can not be considered pure. On the other hand if a non Bishnoi is vegetarian, do not drink, do not smoke, and do not consume opium then food cooked by him with clean hands in a clean utensil in hygienic surroundings then that food can be considered pure.

It is very important to eat Satvik food because someone rightly said, “JAISA KHAVO ANN, VAISA HOVE MANN” means our thinking is affected by the food we eat. “JAISA PIVE PANI VAISI BOLE VANI” our speech is affected by quality of water we drink.
