18. “JEEV DAYA PALANI” Be compassionate/kind/merciful/pity to all living beings.
All the living beings are creatures of God and they have right to live their life. We human beings do not have right to kill them to eat or use for other selfish purpose. We should be compassionate and kind for them. Guru Ji said, “RE BINHI GUNHE JEEV KYUN MARO” why you kill living beings without their fault/crime. “JAYO JEEV NA GHAI” never hurt/torture/kill living being. “JEEVA UPER JOR KARIJE, ANTKAL HOYSI BHARU” If you torture living beings, then your end time will be very painful. “KANY NA PALI JEEV DAYO” why you were not compassionate towards living beings. “JEEV VINASHE LAHE KARNE” why you kill animals for your selfishness.
Someone rightly said, “JIO AUR JINE DO” means live and let others live.
“AHINSA PARMO DHARM” means non violence is the best religion.
If we can not give life to someone then we do not have right to kill anyone.
Some innocent animals are being tortured & killed for fun/game e.g. hunting, bull fighting etc. and others are abused & exploited for circus and work. Some innocent animals are sacrificed to please Gods and others are used as test-objects in laboratories. Many animals are being killed for meat, fur/skin etc. These innocent animals can not speak and explain their pain.
Human has become animal to kill and eat animals.
Mahatma Gandhi said, “The greatness of a society is shown by the way it treats its animals”
People, who are not compassionate towards animals, can not be compassionate for human beings. It is no surprise that tendency of intolerance, violence and crime is increasing day by day due to increased consumption of meat and non-vegetarian food.
Due to killing of wild animals, the ecological balance is in danger.
Killing human in war, terrorist attacks, revenge/avenge and other selfish reasons also is against this rule. Killing unborn girls (foeticide) is also a heinous crime against humanity and this rule.
Guru Ji realised this 5 centuries ago and advised not to kill animals (or any living being) for our selfishness and to be compassionate & kind to all.
